How to Create a Good Affiliate Website

Instructions

    • 1
Choose a theme for your website. You can create an affiliate website about any topic under the sun. To improve your chances of success, find a theme that you are passionate about so your interest level will remain high. To attract even more targeted visitors, choose a smaller niche based on your theme. As an example, if your theme was tea, a smaller niche could be green tea.
    • 2
Research your theme. Visit the free Google keyword tool and type your main keywords into the search box. The keyword tool will give you information on how much competition your keyword has, the search volume and many other related keyword choices. The goal is to find a topic and keywords that have a decent number of monthly searches, but not a lot of competition.
    • 3
Find affiliate programs to promote. Take a piece of paper and pen and brainstorm your theme for ideas. Try to think of every possible type of product that can be related to your theme and search for affiliate programs based around those products. If your theme is coffee, you could look for coffee bean, coffee maker or coffee grinder affiliate programs. You can also look on sites like Clickbank for digital products to sell.

Create your website, or have a Web designer create it for you. You don't have to have anything fancy in the way of graphics, and stay away from flash sites because search engines have trouble searching and indexing them. If you are short on money, you can create an affiliate website on a free blogging platform like wordpress or blogger.

Create content for your website. Content is how your visitors will find your site, and it is perhaps the most important element aside from the affiliate programs you'll be promoting. When creating content, use relevant keyword phrases throughout your pages so search engines can find you when people are looking. Offer solutions to problems people may be having within your niche and you will increase trust, as well as your chances of success. Add your affiliate links to relevant pages within your website.
    • 6Drive traffic to your website. A steady stream of targeted traffic is the only way you will create ongoing income. Create relevant, keyword-rich content on your site to bring traffic via the search engines. You can also write online articles and include your link in the resource box. Add your site to forums and directories and if you have any kind of advertising budget, try pay-per-click ads such as Google Adwords.
