Content Content Content

As an online community manager, regardless of the purpose of your community, you’re expected to grow traffic on a regular basis. This goal is important because community members are fickle. They come by for a while, but eventually, they get caught up in something else.

Very few people stick around for years. Without a fresh crop of new community members coming in, your community will turn into a ghost town.   You also have to drive traffic to a specific target. The goal of a product-based community, for example, is to achieve sales growth.

Without knowing your community’s traffic habits, you won’t be able to drive traffic anywhere, let alone to a sales page.  That’s why those stats are so important. They tell you where your traffic is coming from, what visitors are doing when they reach your community or website, and how long they stick around. Take that information from your stats, and see what you can do to raise the bar. One of the most important things you can learn from your stats is how readers are reacting to your content.

Content, means your blog posts, articles, comments, videos, webinars, and anything else that your readers see or hear while they’re on your site. Your Facebook posts, Tweets, Google+ updates, and forum discussions are also content.  Your stats and analytics programs show you your top content of the day, week, month, or year, and even how well it fared for all time. Most of your potential members probably found your community’s content via search engines, so it’s imperative to develop a strategy that uses your content to lure in even more readers — readers whom you hope will become productive members of the community.

Make note of the most popular topics, as well as the types of content that your community members enjoy most. If they react best to video, create more videos. If a certain topic brings in a flood of traffic, create more content in that vein. If certain discussions bring in the most comments, plan future discussions on the same subject matter.

Don’t fall into the trap of posting negative or controversial content simply to bring in readers. You’ll lose your loyal community members. Also note new trends. If certain search terms are starting to attract attention, use those terms to create similar content to further attract searchers and search engines. That isn’t to say you should write the same article one hundred different ways, but do plan content around the types of things your community reacts to best. Avoid the topics getting little or no reaction from your community.

Ho To Choose The Most Profitable Niche

A short video that will show you how to choose the most profitable niche subject for your site.

PPC Affiliate Marketing

PPC affiliate marketing. Sometimes called traffic brokering.
The PPC to affiliate marketing game is really pretty simple on the surface. But the devil is in the details.
The basic mechanics of it says you buy traffic for less money that the affiliate commissions that you make from that traffic.
So for example, you send 100 people to an offer and it costs you 20 cents a click (so $20). If the merchant converts at 2% you should end up with two sales. With any luck, the commissions from those two sales pays more than the $20 you spent.
Back in the day, it used to be relatively easy to make this happen. Nowadays, it's a bit more difficult.
There is more competition as well as tighter rules from the PPC companies and affiliate merchants themselves.
Nonetheless, there is a huge upside for folks who can get a handle on the mechanics of the thing and find themselves a few nice niches to work with. Many find themselves making millions of dollars a year.
Most people I know who are very successful have a handful of winners that they dominate. To make the big money, it's about finding a few big winners and tapping into those for everything they are worth.

What are the start up requirements?
Other than knowledge, the start up requirements are really limited. You don't have to have a product, in fact, you don't have to even have a website!
It certainly helps to have at least a few hundred bucks behind you to get up and running. I can almost guarantee you'll lose money at the beginning while you're finding your feet. To get started, it's all about not going too far into the red while you're building and learning.
After you get the basic mechanics of it all, you can invest in products like SpeedPPC for improving your campaign building capabilities, as well as conversion tracking software. Nonetheless, you can do a lot of this manually during your start-up phase.
A good guide is probably the only "must have" requirement when kicking off this business. It's best to learn all you can from others before you learn the hard way (by blowing through lots of clicks you're paying for!)

What is the learning curve like?
The learning curve is not steep, but it takes a long time to become a true master. Depending upon which strategy you follow, there can be a lot to learn.
I think the best strategy when beginning is to find someone who's making money and just copy them. Not only in terms of the strategy, but also in terms of the niche you want to work within. I know it's not creative, but you're less likely to go wrong.
Mistakes in this game cost money (because you pay per click), so following someone else's proven formula is the safest road forward.

What are the risks?
Like most businesses, the risks are simply losing money and time. Unlike doing affiliate marketing through SEO, the traffic does cost money.
Overtime, this has become more competitive and you have to be prepared to move with the times to keep your competitive advantage.
Be warned, the landscape seems to shift very quickly. Some people get rich extremely quickly, while others can have their golden goose start laying rotten eggs almost overnight. The infamous "Google Slap" was an example of one of these unexpected shifts you have to deal with.

What is the potential?
Because you can control the flow of traffic, there is potential to get wealthy very quickly. It's a fast moving game. Once you've got some rhythm, you can move into new niches quickly and roll out highly profitable campaigns within a week. Most other business models have a much longer start up time and have a much slower and steadier growth path. If there was such a things as a "get rich quick" opportunity out there, I guess this would be it.

Who does it suit?
I believe that if you want to succeed in PPC affiliate marketing, you need to have an analytical mind. You'll need to be happy working with numbers. At the end of the day, that's what it's all about. It's about buying traffic for the best price, converting the visitors at the right rates and getting paid enough money. It's a balancing act. So if you're happy to stick your head in a spreadsheet every day if required, then you've probably got what it takes!
However, if you hate the thought of doing even the most basic mathematics, then I'd keep looking.

What do I like about it?
What I love about the PPC affiliate marketing business model is the ability to scale your income very quickly. For most "traditional" SEO based affiliate marketing, it's a slow and steady growth process. Often times you can only compete in the smaller niches, so the traffic is always fairly limited. With PPC affiliate marketing, you can target almost any keyword if you've got the other parts of the puzzle sorted out, like your conversion rates and commission payouts.
I also love it because it's exciting. Things happen quickly and you can see the results of your work overnight. There is always that anticipation of landing that next big fish that will give you another pay rise.

How do I get started?
The best way to get started is to get alongside someone who is already doing well in this business. Ideally you'll find someone to mentor you to success. It will save you making so many mistakes that end up costing money.
If you can't find a mentor, the next best thing is to get yourself a good guide. Surprisingly, there aren't too many really comprehensive guides around. There are a few ebooks on the market, but they don't give the complete picture required to really make it work. The Black Book DVDs ($1197) are excellent, as was Pay Per Click Formula (about $800) but that has been pulled off the market.
The latest one on the market is the new PPC Classroom 2.0 course that launches on the 14th of October, 2008. [UPDATE: Now closed to new members.]
Due to its low price, bang for buck, I believe it's the best PPC affiliate marketing resource out there. It's good to see a product that doesn't hold anything back just because it's cheap. In my opinion, there is no reason why someone with an analytical mind can't take the resources in PPC Classroom and build a big PPC affiliate business.

Next Step...
In summary, if you're an analytical person who is interested in a moderately risky (but exciting) business with a high reward potential, then the next step should be to get your hands on a comprehensive guide like the Black Book DVDs or PPC Classroom. Learn everything you can, then dip your toe in and earn your stripes.
If you're not suited to the analytical stuff so much, I'd give it a miss and check out my other two favorite online business models that I'll discuss in the next two weeks.

Let's make some money off affiliate progrems

Many bloggers are eager to find revenue streams to help monetize their blogs. Once your blog is established and receiving some traffic, you may want to begin researching affiliate programs that could allow your blog to put money in your pocket.
What is Affiliate Advertising?

Affiliate advertising is basically an online marketing channel. An advertiser pays a blogger to promote the advertiser’s products or services on the blogger’s site.
There are three main types of affiliate ads: pay-per-click, pay-per-lead and pay-per-sale. Each of these affiliate ad types has one thing in common. They are all performance based meaning you don’t earn money until your readers perform an action such as clicking on a link or clicking on a link then purchasing the product on the page to which the link brings them.
There are several large and well-known companies that offer affiliate programs which you can set up on your blog within minutes regardless of how well established your blog is.
Examples of Companies Offering Affiliate Advertising Programs to Bloggers:
  • Amazon: You can choose from a wide variety of ads such as text links, banner ads and more. If you’d like, you can also select the exact Amazon products you’d like to feature on your blog.
  • eBay: You can choose from eBay’s auctions and find the specific products you want to advertise on your site.
  • AllPosters: You can choose from 400,000 products to advertise on your blog.
What is an Affiliate Directory?
You could sign-up to monetize your blog through an affiliate directory where various online merchants post their affiliate ad opportunities. You can review the ad opportunities and apply to host a specific ad on your blog.
Most advertisers on these sites will have restrictions related to the blogs they will work with. Typically those restrictions are related to how long the blog has been active and the amount of traffic the blog receives. For those reasons, an affiliate directory is most helpful if your blog is well established.
Take some time to research each affiliate directory to find the right one for you and your blog. Different affiliate programs offer different payments and credibility. Take your time and investigate your options before you jump into anything.
Examples of Popular Affiliate Advertising Directories:
Factors to Consider When You Select an Affiliate Advertising Program to Monetize Your Blog
  1. Read all the details about the opportunity including the pay, the terms, etc.
  2. Select affiliate program ads that are consistent with your blog’s content. Ads that don’t match your content will undoubtedly be clicked on less frequently (meaning less revenue for you) and can decrease the credibility of your blog (meaning fewer readers will return to your blog because it's cluttered with irrelevant ads).
  3. Don’t go overboard with affiliate ads. Too many ads not only make your blog look suspiciously like spam to readers, but search engines will think so, too. Sites that are covered with affiliate ads and little additional original content will be marked as spam by Google and other search engines which will hurt your traffic and page rank overall.
  4. Don’t expect big profits (at least not at first). While many bloggers can generate a decent ancillary income from affiliate advertising, most bloggers can’t boast those kinds of results. Boosting your income through affiliate advertising takes time and practice. Don’t be afraid to test new ads, placement, programs and more until you find the best mix to meet your goals for your blog.

Make money online

Making money online used to pretty much require you to have your own Web site, products to sell and some marketing savvy. But a new generation of dot-coms have arisen that will pay you for what you know and who you know without you having to be a web designer or a marketing genius.
But it's hard to tell hype from the real deal. I did a search on "make money online" and "making money online", and much of the information out there is just promoting various infoproducts, mostly about Internet marketing. I see why people sometimes ask, "Is anyone making money online besides Internet marketing experts?"
So I put together a list of business opportunities with legitimate companies that:
  • Pay cash, not just points towards rewards or a chance to win money
  • Don't require you to have your own Web domain or your own products
  • Don't involve any hard-selling
  • Aren't just promoting more Internet marketing
  • Give a good return on your time investment
In the interest of objectivity, none of the links below are affiliate links, and none of them have paid or provided any other consideration for their presence here. These are legitimate companies with business models that allow you to get paid for a wide range of activities.
Help friends find better jobs.
Sites like ReferEarnsZyoinWho Do You Know For Dough?, and WiseStepp connect employers with prospective employees, many of whom are already employed and not actively job-hunting, via networking - the people who know these qualified candidates. Rewards for referring a candidate who gets hired range from $50 on up to several thousand dollars - not chump change. If you know a lot of job-seekers (and who doesn't these days?), this is a great way to break into the recruiting business with no overhead.
Connect suppliers with buyers.
Referral fees are a common practice in business, but they haven't been used much in online networking sites because there was no way to track them. Sites like SalesconxInnerSell anduRefer now provide that. Vendors set the referral fees they're willing to pay (and for what), and when the transaction happens, you get paid. uRefer also allows merchants to set up referral programs for introductions and meetings, as well as transactions.
Write.
A growing number of sites will pay for your articles or blog posts. Associated Content and Heliumwill "pay for performance" based on page views for just about anything you want to write about. Articles on specific topics they're looking for can earn direct payments up to about $200. The rates are probably low for established writers, but if you're trying to break into the field and have time on your hands, they're a great way to start. Also, a lot of companies are looking for part-time bloggers. They may pay per post or on a steady contract. Our Weblogs Guide posts blogging jobs weekly in the forum.
Start your own blog.
You don't have to have your own Web site, or install blogging software, or even figure out how to set up the advertising. At Blogger you can set up a blog for free in less than five minutes without knowing a thing about web design, and Blogger even automates setting up Google AdSense so you can make money off your blog by displaying ads and getting paid when people click on the ads. To make even more money from it, set up an affiliate program (see below) for books, music, etc., and insert your affiliate links whenever you refer to those items. You'll have to get a lot of traffic to become a six-figure blogger, but pick an interesting topic, write well, tell all your friends, and you're off to a good start.
Create topical resource hubs.
Are you an expert on a particular niche topic? Can you put together an overview of the topic and assemble some of the best resources on the topic from around the web? Then you can create topical hubs and get paid through sites like SquidooHugPages and Google Knol. Payments are based on a combination of ad revenue and affiliate fees. You'll get higher rates doing it on your own, but these sites have a built-in supply of traffic and tools to make content creation easier.
Advertise other people's products.
If you already have a Web site or a blog, look for vendors that offer related but non-competing products and see if they have an affiliate program. Stick to familiar products and brands - they're easier to sell. To promote those products:
  • Place simple text or graphical ads in appropriate places on your site
  • Include links to purchase products you review or recommend in a blog, discussion forum or mailing list you control
  • Create a dedicated sales page or Web site to promote a particular product
They all work - it just depends on how much time you have to spend on it and your level of expertise with Web design and marketing.
Microstock photography.
You don't have to be a professional photographer to sell your photos for money. People are constantly in need of stock photography for websites, presentations, brochures and so on, and are willing to pay for the right image. People generally search for images on stock photography sites by keywords, not by photographer, so you have the same chance as anyone else of having your image picked. Just be careful that you don't have images of trademarked brands, copyrighted art or people's faces that are readily identifiable (unless you have a model release), but just about anything else is fair game, and I promise - you'd be amazed what people need pictures of, so don't make any assumptions. If it's a decent photo, upload it. Some sites to get you started includeFotoliaShutterStockDreamstime and iStockphoto. The great thing about this is that it's truly "set it and forget it".
The above list is by no means comprehensive, but it highlights some of the new and interesting ways to make money online without investing any money, without having a product of your own, and without having expert sales and marketing skills. Most of all, unlike taking surveys or getting paid to read e-mail, the potential return on your time investment is substantial.

888 Review

888Casino (or Casino-on-Net as its also known) is probably a familiar name to you and this wouldn’t surprise me as it was one of the very first online casinos to appear on the internet many, many years ago. Since it’s inception this group has grown from strength to strength and is probably one of the most recognized and well-known brands around, appearing everywhere from famous Soccer Team’s shirts to Poker and Snooker shows as well as a variety of other sporting events branding.
When it comes to online gambling, 888.com is not only an ever-present brand name but also one of the most popular online casinos and it’s not difficult to see why. Their Casino site is graphically appealing, well laid out and the professionalism of their complete offering is evidence of years of experience.

888CASINO BONUS AND PROMOTIONAL OFFERING

While 888Casino focuses equally on their poker and casino offerings, for the purpose of this review I’m going to only go into what is available on the Casino side of things.
In addition to their sign up bonus, 888 Casino also offers players other regular promotions like monthly re-load and surprise bonuses (watch that e-mail) as well as a Refer-a-Friend bonus of $30 for each friend that you refer.
Casino-on-Net also hosts a $10,000 monthly slots tournament as well as range of other unique ones with large cash prizes up for grabs.

LOYALTY

When it comes to loyalty programs 888 Casino offers players a truly outstanding and unique players club which consistently features a jam packed calendar of promotional events and tournaments where you can win very generous cash prizes during promotional periods…you have to see it to believe it!
In addition to their players club, 888.com also runs a VIP Program that is second to none and offers members exceptional benefits such as higher conversion rates on Comp points, a personal VIP loyalty manager, invitations to exclusive events, extra surprise promotions and hospitality at major sporting events and more.
To be considered for VIP status, you will need to accumulate 150,000 bonus points and a deposit minimum of $5,000 and don’t forget you get even more as a VIP Gold member (of course there are levels! There has to be something for you to strive for to keep you loyal).

DOWNLOAD AND REGISTRATION

Casino-on-Net offers you the option to play on either the Download or No Download version of the casino. As always I recommend the Download version if you’re playing at home and don’t mind taking up the disk space on your PC as there are just a few features available (and more games) than the Flash version. If things like that don’t concern you then the Flash version is perfect too, and gets started a lot quicker as you play directly in your browser.
Once you have downloaded the software, you will have to register an account in order to play, the form shouldn’t take more than a few minutes to fill in and don’t worry, you don’t have to be concerned about the privacy of your information, it’s all fully encrypted and is for the casinos use only.
Once you’ve registered an account you’ll log into the casino and head to the cashier to make a deposit.

BANKING

Casino-on-Net has a state of the art banking system where safety and security is their top priority ensuring your peace of mind.
They offer a variety of all major deposit methods to players including Credit Card, Debit Card, ACTeCASH, ePassporteMoneybookersNeteller, Check Bank, Wire, Wire Transfer, Instadebit, Bank Transfer, Cash PrePaid Card and Paysafe Card.
I deposited $100 via my Neteller card and within a minute the funds appeared in my player account and so I headed off to the Casino Lobby to check out the games offering.

GAMES OFFERING

888.com own and makes use of Random Logic Software, and it is evident from the entire Casino and Games offering that quality is the primary focus of this organization and in my opinion they manage to offer one of the most comprehensive, balanced and attractive packages around. Their current offering extends to over 200 casino games including Card and Table Games, Slots, Video Poker and Progressives.
I decided to start my game play at Casino-on-Net with a visit to their slot machines which are comprised of an offering of 16 Classic Slots plus 4 Video Slots. I started off with a Classic Slot called One Glory and although the play is smooth, I’m still a Video Slot fan and decided to rather play Treasure Whirl which is also a Progressive Slot with a very generous jackpot whose ticker never seems to stop! This was far more entertaining and I loaded $50 into it to see whether or not I’d be the lucky winner, but unfortunately at $3 a spin that didn’t last long!
I then decided to try my hand at the Blackjack tables, and started at the multi-hand tables with betting limits of $1 to $250. However, if your blood is a little richer, Casino-on-Net also offers high-rollers VIP tables with limits of up to $1,200 a hand. I had a good streak of luck at the table and was up $500 when I decided to move it before I began to lose.
On to the roulette tables for a little European Roulette and Lady Luck left…after about 30 minutes of dismal betting my balance declined rapidly and I thought I’d better try out some of the other games including Caribbean Stud poker (which was even worse) and Video Poker.
Finally I had $3 left and I decided to put it into the Progressive Millionaire Genie Video Slot and luckily I won exactly $100. With my initial deposit back in the bank I decided to call it a night…difficult as that was! But definitely a lot of fun!
I cashed out and within a short period the money was back in my Neteller account waiting for next time…

CUSTOMER SUPPORT

Casino-on-Net offers customer support 24/7 via toll free telephone and E-mail and Live chat also available via their website. As one would expect this is professionally managed and you will never have a problem that can’t be solved!

THE VERDICT

888.com / Casino-on-Net is a casino that has been built on years of experience, this is evident in every single part of their outstanding offering. It does come with a warning though…play once and you’ll be addicted for life!
